International Challengers for the
Integration of
Science, Technology, and Society
Hello, I am Ji-hwan Kim, the president of ICISTS.
ICISTS (International Callengers for the Integration of Science, Technology, and Society) began in November 2003 as KAIST's network for Harvard's HPAIR. However, we didn't remain just a branch; in 2005, we acquired a new name and independence, setting our sights on hosting student conferences in the field of science and technology.
From ICISTS conferences, where students all around the world exchanged views and met distinguished leaders, to GRAFFITI, an entrepreneurial event connecting startups and students, and SCOF, which aimed at experiencing science communication, ICISTS has been active for the past 21 years. Today, we continue to work towards our vision of being a scholarly event network that connects current and future leaders across corporations, institutions, and individuals.

Core Values
Connection
We connect current and future leaders through academic events. ICISTS bridges companies, institutions, and individuals in the science and technology sector to create new value.
Cooperation
We host various academic events by collaborating with multiple companies and institutions. From GRAFFITI which we partnered with the KAIST Startup Institute to hold to the "Failed Project Exhibition" that was held with the Institute of Failure Studies, flexible cooperation is ICISTS's strength.
Integration
We break down the barriers created by stereotypes. Through SCOF, we dismantled the boundaries between the public and scientists, merging science with the fields of humanities. By integrating diverse fields, ICISTS focuses on the essence of knowledge.
